ABOUT MARIA
Down to earth, passionately caring and with a drive to approach characters from an honest raw emotional truth, most of Maria's work has circled around the diverse Latinx experience in America. Her comedy chops honed through 20 years of clowning improv and physical comedy, round out the humanity and grit she brings to each character's story.
On a personal level, Maria loves to dance, even if jamming on her own in her apartment. She is grateful for the existence of the large NYC parks because oof, concrete, and where else can you run, bike and see fascinating city wild life?! She most cherishes face to face time with loved ones and friends. Because just like creating art and theater, nothing makes us more present to our own existence than being in rhythm with our bodies through music, experiencing the outdoor natural world, or having quality in person time with other humans who get us.
